I've gone back to my favorite surface - a RayMar Feather-Lite cotton canvas panel - and what a difference! The paint lays down on the surface and does not slide around as it did on the Cradled Panel. As a result, I was able to complete this painting quickly and feel that it is closer in color to my reference photo.
Both of these are beautiful, Raymar is my favorite surface - but then it needs a frame. Do you use the smooth or the textured cradled panels? I may need a break from landscapes soon.
ReplyDeleteYou're right - it does need a frame. I think I only had smooth cradled panels - didn't know they came textured - that would be better! Thanks for the tip!
